Create your account

Your VAIF Studio account is created in the console, at console.vaif.studio/register. The SDKs and the API do not create VAIF Studio accounts.

On Create your account, choose one:

  • A sign-in provider. The buttons at the top list the providers you can use.
  • Continue with your company. Enter your work email, and the console sends you to your company’s identity provider, when your organization has single sign-on set up.
  • Email and password. The form shows the password rule as you type.

A short bot check runs before the account is created. If it can’t load, turn off content blockers for the page and reload it.

After you sign up with an email and password, the console shows Check your inbox. Open the link in the email to confirm the address, then sign in. If the link has expired, the page offers Send a new link.

Once you’re signed in, the start screen creates your organization and offers three ways to begin: describe your app to Verament, start from a template, or create a blank project.

Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or open console.vaif.studio/forgot-password. The same bot check runs. The page answers the same way for every address: if the address has an account, a reset link is on its way.

A client created without a projectId manages VAIF Studio itself, and it can’t create a VAIF Studio account or reset its password. auth.signUp() and auth.requestPasswordReset() on such a client throw VaifConsoleOnlyError before any request is sent. The error’s code is CONSOLE_ONLY, and consoleUrl is the console page to send the person to:

import { createVaifClient, isVaifConsoleOnlyError } from "@vaifstudio/client";
const vaif = createVaifClient({ baseUrl: "https://api.vaif.studio" });
try {
await vaif.auth.signUp("ada@example.com", "a-long-password");
} catch (error) {
if (isVaifConsoleOnlyError(error)) {
console.log(`Create your account at ${error.consoleUrl}`);
} else {
throw error;
}
}

To sign up the users of your own app, create the client with your projectId. Those calls work as before; see Authentication.
